GBH Presents
ALTAR OF PLAGUES, WINTERFYLLETH, DAEMONOLITH + more
Black Metal Sunday 22nd February 2009
Darkness descends once again upon Edinburgh for a night of unholy black metal!! GBH in association with Bloodlust present…. Altar of Plagues These Irish lads mix black metal with post hardcore to create a truely captivating experience. Recently signed to Profound lore. From ZT…. “Having seen these lads support Wolves in the Throneroom last month, it’s a real pleasure to hear their music in recorded finally, and it does not dissapoint. Indeed, Wolves.. would be a very good reference point for Altar of Plagues who play epic, melodic, UGBM easily as well as their predecessors. Atmospheric BM frostiness and more positive moments remind me of Agalloch, Drudkh and Primordial. ” http://www.myspace.com/altarofplagues Winterfylleth One of Englands best BM bands at the moment travelling up especially for this gig to play with label mates AoP. From Aquarius… “Part of a new(ish) metal movement in the UK, Winterfylleth, along with Fen and Wodensthrone (who share a member or two) are spearheading a wave of Neo-Pagan black metallism, that entails, lyrically, plenty of nature and Anglo-Saxon history, while sonically channeling a sound similar to heathen BM combos Drudkh, but sprinkled liberally with the Viking vibes of Enslaved.” http://www.myspace.com/winterfylleth Daemonolith Old school black metal that will soon be releasing their debut album on Darkland records. If you’re into thee oldschool then this is the band for you! http://www.myspace.com/daemonolith666 Cnocantursa Epic, Keyboard laden black metal that is heavily inspired by the early Norwegian second wave and classic old school heavy metal. http://www.myspace.com/cnocantursa Valpurga Local black metal band who mix old school black metal with thrash. http://www.myspace.com/valpurga
